Fall Feast

Like every holiday with the Ferrara’s, this Thursday we had a feast… for seven people.  I don’t mind though, since I am taking all of the leftovers back with me, if they last.  This year was a little bit different though, because about half of our offerings were completely vegan.  Although I do not live that lifestyle, it was interesting how we made most common Thanksgiving recipes totally vegan friendly.  This is our menu and some of my favorite pictures of the day.

Appetizers:

  • Cream cheese and olive stuffed celery (my favorite)
  • Antipasto Course:
    • Lettuce, olive medley,  pickled vegetables, meats and cheese (vegan cheese too)

Main Course:

  • Smashed whipped potatoes (therefore vegan)
  • Sweet potato casserole (vegan and regular)
  • Chipotle Butternut Squash (vegan)
  • Green bean casserole (vegan)
  • Brussels Sprouts with onions and bacon
  • Creamed onions
  • Canned Cranberry sauce (my favorite)
  • Chutney cranberry sauce with pomegranate and apple
  • Turkey and Gravy (vegan equivilant also)
  • Stuffing (vegan and regular

Dessert:

  • Pecan Pie
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Dutch Apple
  • Apple Cranberry Zinger Pie
  • Vegan Apple
  • Ice Cream
  • Chestnuts
