Friendly Dinner

Food is love.  It’s like my go-to saying.  When I cook for you, it’s because I love you, and when I share food with you, I definitely love you.  So the other night Sami and I had a meal together.  We each contributed to the meal and it turned out fabulously.  Dinner is better when you share it together!

What was made:

Here’s how we made them:

Kale and Bacon:

Ingredients:

  • kale
  • bacon
  • caramelized onions
  • salt and pepper

How to:

  1. Place a pan with deep walls on medium heat and add 3 pieces of cooked bacon, moving them around so that the grease coats the pan.
  2. Place sliced onions in the pan and cook until translucent.
  3. Place the kale and a bit of water in the pan. My kale was dry, so it wasn’t wilting but instead it was getting dried out. If this is the case for you, add half a cup of water at a time until it begins to wilt.
  4. Cook for about 10 minutes or until it is all wilted. Lightly salt and pepper and enjoy!

Sami’s Sammie:

Ingredients:

  • sourdough bread
  • mozzarella cheese
  • pesto
  • tomatoes
  • caramelized onions

How to:

  1. Butter one side of the slices of bread. On the inside, spread pesto, cheese, tomatoes, and onions.
  2. Slowly grill the sandwich in a pan on medium/low heat until the inside is all melty and the bread is slightly crispy on the outside and enjoy! Thanks for making such a great sandwich, girl!
